PRESCOTT, Ariz. (March 3, 2026)
Earlier today, the Yavapai Baseball team hosted the Roadrunners of Scottsdale Grad Prep, where YC would handle the visitors in a 12-2 win at home!
Today was the Lincoln Elementary School Kids Day, and the future Roughriders proved to be a good luck charm for the guys as the team would go up by 10 runs by the end of the 5th inning, ending the game early.
Yavapai Catchers Derek Kiepke and Garison Jones each had stellar days; Jones would hit a 2-run Home Run, and Derek Kiepke would have 3 RBI's off just one hit!
Tarrell Reid also had 2 RBI's and one double, as well as crossing home plate for three runs of his own. The other Reid, Reid Hurtt, would steal a base for the Riders.
YC pitchers Carson Sanchez and Owen Fernandes held off the opposition from scoring, as the two of them combined to allowing just two runs.
Yavapai won this game against Scottsdale Post Grad 12-2.

Yavapai Baseball will resume conference play this weekend on the road, where they will head down to Coolidge to face off the #25 Vaqueros of Central Arizona. The 3-game series will begin on Friday, March 6th at 2 PM, and then the double-header will finish off the series at 12 & 2 PM on Saturday, March 7th.
